Subscription Box Review: Harrison Blake Apparel

    March 9, 2017 / No Comments

Hello everyone! Are you all still here? It’s been a bit quiet on my end of things and I apologize for that. For those who don’t know, I spent some time in the hospital at the beginning of February and ended up having two emergency surgeries. So that’s put me behind on a few things! Thankfully I’m coming back around and digging out of that hole so you don’t need to worry that I’m going away anytime soon! Unfortunately, a few things got behind while I was recovering and the review of this fabulous subscription box was one of them. So my deepest apologies to Harrison Blake Apparel  for being later…

    Product Review: Circle with Disney

    December 12, 2016 / No Comments

Do you have screen time struggles in your house? We do. I admit that I sort of always sat apart from the folks complaining about their kids and screen time and I was probably a tiny little bit judgmental. Okay, I always thought we had a good handle on our kids with electronics, etc. But then I got to the point where I had three teenagers. And three phones. And multiple computers and tablets. The computers and the tablets are used for school, by the way. But still, I realized we had a problem. It seemed like I was constantly finding one or the other of my kids with their…

    One step at a time….

    November 2, 2016 / No Comments

I posted this yesterday on my Facebook page (I had too much happening to even attempt to get it over here!) But now I have a little time, so I thought I’d share. 🙂 This is a long update, but stick with me. It turned out to be a mini blog entry that I just don’t have time to put in the blog right now – so putting it here! LOL! So I’m not gonna lie. Yesterday was a really tough day for me. I had just wrapped my brain around a plan, gotten the kids settled on what the next month would look like and literally just decided it…

Are we raising up the next generation of leaders? Or have we left them to wander the desert?

    September 27, 2016 / 2 Comments

Recently I started working on some of our holiday offerings for Radiant Lit. (I know, I know. Quit groaning! If we’re going to gather up products to review or write articles about that will post then, we really should have started at least a month ago! Anyway, one of our more popular series at Radiant Lit was a couple of years ago when we highlighted a lot of Bibles. It seems Bibles are a hot Christmas gift for a lot of people. So we got a ton of Bibles for everyone from toddlers to scholars and everyone in between and we reviewed them. We’re looking at doing this again and I’m…

How Poker Chips Saved My Sanity

    June 30, 2016 / 1 Comment

A few years ago, I realized that I was outnumbered by children in my house. I know that is a logical conclusion when you have three kids and two parents, but the reality can sometimes catch you off guard. When the kids graduated out of toddlerville, I needed to come up with a way to manage and handle all of the expectations, chores and rewards in our house. I tried chore charts, stickers, and posters. I attempted morning motivational meetings where we set up the expectations for the day. I wrote out a daily schedule of events. I set up consequences and rules.  None of it stuck. But then came poker…

    Facebook Isn’t My Friend

    June 17, 2016 / 3 Comments

So I’m starting off this article with a bit of a warning.  This is my blog and these are my thoughts. You don’t have to agree and it is not my assumption that if you disagree you hate me or you want me to die. Sounds like a really dire warning doesn’t it? But these days, it is, sadly, far more relevant than outlandish. A few years ago, I was a writer. Only a writer. Not a social media guru or marketing pro. Just made a living writing stories for the masses. At the time, I was working on a radio drama and some members of the cast (all of whom…
