    Grace Unplugged in Theaters Friday!

    October 3, 2013 / No Comments

Over the past week or so you’ve seen a lot about Grace Unplugged here on my site. It’s because I loved the book and I can’t wait for the movie. (It comes out tomorrow in theaters!) I would encourage you to visit the website and check out the trailer for this amazing story. This is about a young girl who gets pulled into the music industry and struggles with her values, her family, and what the industry is trying to do with her. As someone who works regularly in the entertainment industry, this isn’t far off of the mark. There’s always peer pressure out there. Get into the entertainment industry…

Behind the Scenes vs. Highlight Reel…How Do You Compare?

    September 12, 2013 / No Comments

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3 This week I posted an article about the dangers of comparison marketing. When you’re looking at someone else’s company or marketing plan and trying to replicate what they’ve done, it will only create frustration. Their plan isn’t yours and it’s not designed for your business. I experience this more often on a personal level. Women in particular, tend to look at other people and compare their lives to others. I know many women who are extremely candid when they do this. Walking into a room or a situation, often women will ‘size up’ the rest of the…

Do you know who I am?

    May 14, 2013 / No Comments

Recently Reese Witherspoon made national headlines when, during a drunk driving arrest, she asked the police officer that question. She threatened that he would be all over the news if he arrested her and guess what? She was right. Just not in the way she had imagined. Instead of everyone rolling their eyes at the police officer and his actions, the entire country was rolling their eyes at Reese. Suddenly you’re in damage control mode. I admit that I rolled my eyes when I read Reese’s story. In the course of my career I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of ‘celebrities’ and I’ve been on the receiving…

    Are you a Bezalel?

    May 6, 2013 / No Comments

Have you ever heard of Bezalel? He’s one of my favorite people from the Bible. He’s not very well known, but where he is mentioned, he totally owns creativity, resources and above all, faithfulness to God’s plan. We first meet Bezalel in Exodus 31: 1-5. Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood,…

    The Story: He is Risen

    April 5, 2013 / No Comments

For those who don’t know, I attend Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas.  (Many may recognize this as John Hagee’s Church.) This year I was blessed to have the opportunity to assist in the writing of the Easter Pageant and the production turned out beautifully!  Here’s a picture from the production:   For those who are interested, you can view it for the next three days for free at GETV.org.  It’s on “Recently Added” – just click on that and look for “The Story: He is Risen.” If you take the time to watch it, I’d love to hear what you thought!

    Biblical Messages in Wreck-it Ralph

    April 3, 2013 / 7 Comments

I love it when you’re watching a movie or television program and suddenly the story line or the characters delve into something that’s a deeper truth. You know, something that’s completely unexpected and probably unintended, but shares a powerful message. I’ve seen Wreck-It Ralph several times over the past few weeks but when I was watching this past Sunday, several things hit me all at once about the story. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, there will be spoilers ahead – so consider yourself warned! Okay – still here? Let’s go.
