    The Story: He is Risen

    April 5, 2013 / No Comments

For those who don’t know, I attend Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas.  (Many may recognize this as John Hagee’s Church.) This year I was blessed to have the opportunity to assist in the writing of the Easter Pageant and the production turned out beautifully!  Here’s a picture from the production:   For those who are interested, you can view it for the next three days for free at GETV.org.  It’s on “Recently Added” – just click on that and look for “The Story: He is Risen.” If you take the time to watch it, I’d love to hear what you thought!

    Biblical Messages in Wreck-it Ralph

    April 3, 2013 / 7 Comments

I love it when you’re watching a movie or television program and suddenly the story line or the characters delve into something that’s a deeper truth. You know, something that’s completely unexpected and probably unintended, but shares a powerful message. I’ve seen Wreck-It Ralph several times over the past few weeks but when I was watching this past Sunday, several things hit me all at once about the story. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, there will be spoilers ahead – so consider yourself warned! Okay – still here? Let’s go.

    Giving the day to God….

    March 25, 2013 / No Comments

Years ago, when my husband and I first got married, we lived in this teeny, tiny second floor apartment. We could stand in the hallway and take one step in any direction and end up in a different room. It was perfect for us. After all, we were newlyweds. The last thing we needed at the time was space! I had recently gotten my hands on a Kay Arthur book and when the alarm clock went off in the dark hours of the morning, I listened to my husband get into the shower and I decided to crack open the book. That day’s devotional was all about how to start…

Escaping the Cauldron by Kristine McGuire Reviewed by: Lori Twichell Genre: non-fiction Publisher: Charisma House Publication Date: September 5, 2012 Kristine McGuire was raised in a Christian home. She married a Christian man and had two children. Her life seemed perfect from the outside. But inside, she was in turmoil. Fifty Shades of Jill and Lori

    June 21, 2012 / No Comments

So unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon right? Huge breakout bestseller that everyone’s reading and/or talking about? Jill and I have both received emails, messages and lots of questions about our thoughts on Fifty Shades in the past few weeks. We thought maybe it was FINALLY time to stop putting our heads in the sand and hoping it goes away.  Let me be honest – you may be surprised. Lori’s Grey: First of all, I’ve got to warn you that because of the subject matter of the book, it’s hard to talk about it without putting out a warning.…
