Subscription Box Review: Once Upon a Book Club

    July 3, 2017 / No Comments

You guys know I love subscription boxes. I mean I really, really love them. I think it is really cool to get a box every month and be surprised by what is inside. Seriously I got a box once that had all this stuff free floating in it – looked like someone had cleaned out their junk drawer! I also love books. That’s a fact that is pretty well documented by the fact that I own Fiction Addict and Radiant Lit. At the beginning of the subscription box phase, I tried a couple of book themed…

Review: Within the Veil by Brandy Vallance

    June 28, 2016 / No Comments

Title:  Within the Veil Author: Brandy Vallance Genre: Historical Fiction Publisher: Lyrical Vine Press Date: June 28, 2016 Feya Broon has a really difficult life.  The oldest of a group of siblings, her mother died leaving her alone with her father. He, unfortunately, isn’t the best parenting role model. More often than not, Feya has to parent him.  It’s when they are unable to pay a window tax that everything finally breaks. Watching the bricks stack up to make a covering over the only light in their little hovel of a home seems to be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel’s back.  When the money she’s tucked away disappears, Feya…

Princess Ever After by Rachel Hauck Genre: Romance Publisher: Harper Collins Publication Date: February 4, 2014 Regina Beswick loves to work on old cars. She loves to fix them up, get them running again, and restore them to their gorgeous, vintage beauty. Until one evening when a handsome, well-dressed man with a decidedly un-American accent shows up at her Tallahassee shop. That’s when things take a nose dive into the surreal. He informs Regina…

Book Review: Draw of Kings by Patrick Carr

    February 12, 2014 / No Comments

Draw of Kings (Staff and the Sword book #3) by Patrick Carr Reviewed by: Lori Twichell Genre: Fantasy Publisher: Bethany House Publishers Publication Date: January 28, 2014 Errol Stone would like little more than to disappear from the kingdom’s knowledge. Having grown up in a small village, virtually ignored for most of his life, he’s not adapting to the spotlight well. However, all casts that have been made by the Secundus of the Kingdom have shown that it’s likely either he or Liam will be the King. And certainly, one of these two men will give up his life. But which one? The cast doesn’t show that much information. So…

Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay Genre: Romance, Literature Publisher: Thomas Nelson Publication Date: November 5, 2013 Samantha Moore is a smart girl who has lived a tough life. They are her friends. She escapes into their worlds whenever things become stressful. When…
