Not too long ago I had the chance to review The Action Bible Devotional from David C. Cook. My kids were over the moon delighted when, shortly after submitting the review to them, we received copies of The Action Bible and The Action Bible New Testament.
The New Testament version of The Action Bible is pretty self explanatory. It contains the same illustrations and text that come from the New Testement section of The Action Bible. Glorious pictures with accompanying Biblical references and text give the Bible a new dramatic style for kids that are just now starting to get into exploring and discovering the Bible on their own.
Thinner and more portable than the full Action Bible, The New Testament is still printed on heavy paper to allow for small fingers to enjoy reading it without having to worry about tearing. And trust me – they will. My kids have all enjoyed these Bibles and devotionals so much that actual fights have broken out amongst them about who gets which one.
It’s hard to see how these Bibles for kids could possibly be improved. If you’ve got a kid in your house and aren’t sure about doing the whole Action Bible, this is a great place to start.
My kids are huge fans and since these have arrived in our house, it’s not unusual to see them sitting in a corner reading the Bible. It’s absolutely fantastic.
Note: We also received three copies of The Action Bible Christmas Story. This is a 17 page pamphlet that shares the birth of Christ from The Action Bible. I would highly recommend these for any event where there are going to be a lot of children. They are sold in packs of 25 and they were well done beautiful pamphlets that would be easy to distribute and fun for kids to receive. Well worth the value!
Rated PG – This goes into all of the Bible stories so some things may be better served with parental guidance. But really, this Bible is fabulous and well done – I’d recommend it for anyone who wants to work on getting their kids into the Bible!
