    June 30, 2017 / No Comments

Bring Her Home by David Bell Genre: contemporary, thriller, suspense, mystery, drama Publisher: Berkley Date: July 11, 2017 Bill Price’s life isn’t extraordinary in the least. Like most men, Bill doesn’t speak teenager and he’s not sure how to help his daughter get through the loss that he’s barely surviving himself.  Just when he thinks that things couldn’t possibly get more difficult, the worst thing imaginable happens. Book Review: The Burning World by Isaac Marion

    June 27, 2017 / No Comments

The Burning World by Isaac Marion Genre: science fiction, romance, drama, Publisher: Atria Date: February 7, 2017 R and Julie live in chaos and upheaval.  Normal for them would be considered absolute horror for the rest of us.  Cataloging whether someone is completely dead, almost dead, or living is part of their every day. Throw in the fact that they are in a daily fight for survival and it’s not exactly what you could call ideal. But they make it work and together they have carved some semblance of a life. It’s an existence and for R (who remembers being dead not so long ago) it’s as close to heaven…

Book Review: Moonbreaker by Simon Green

    June 22, 2017 / No Comments

Moonbreaker by Simon R. Green Genre: Science fiction Publisher: Ace Date: June 6, 2017 Eddie Drood is not just a secret agent. He’s a very secret agent. I’m not kidding. He fights things that most of us only read about in books. His girlfriend, Molly, is one of the most powerful witches in existence and the two of them basically travel all over the place fighting the supernatural. It’s big. It’s bad. And right now, it’s deadly. Eddie’s been poisoned by himself. Well, sort of. It’s him from a parallel universe. And he knows he’s dying. So now he’s going to spend his very last days tracking Edmund down to…

    Red Nose Day May 25

    May 23, 2017 / No Comments

As someone who LOVES British television, I have followed Red Nose Day for years. It’s a fabulous tradition and I’m excited to see it get picked up here in the U.S. So when I got a press release recently, I knew without a doubt that I was going to share it. As we near the start of summer and think about vacations and time off with families there are others who are not nearly as fortunate to enjoy those luxuries. On May 25th NBC television will air Red Nose Day, a live telecast aimed at ending child poverty. Red Nose Day is unique in that multiple charitable organizations will benefit…

Book Review: Where The Dead Lie

    April 20, 2017 / No Comments

Where the Dead Lie by C.S. Harris Genre: mystery, historical, suspense, Publisher: Berkley Date: April 4, 2017 Sebastian St. Cyr is a man that you do not want to cross. The venerable Viscount Devlin is not a man that lets go of injustice. It’s one of the reasons that his investigations have become so well known. He’s never content to just wrap up a case. Justice must be served. So when a young boy turns up not only dead, but appears to have been torture in the long hours before his death, Sebastian is on a mission. And the stakes go even higher when Sebastian realizes that this isn’t a…

Book Review: Thirty-Two Going on Spinster

    April 18, 2017 / No Comments

Thirty-Two Going on Spinster by Becky Monson Genre: comedy, romance, contemporary Publisher: CreateSpace Date: December 2012 Julia Dorning is pretty convinced she’s a spinster. And if she’s not, she’s going to be. At the ripe old age of thirty-two, she’s not married and she lives with her parents. Even though that’s not technically in the dictionary definition, it still sounds pretty close to it. Oh and she has a cat, too. So that’s just another check mark in that ‘spinster’ column, right? But how do you shift gears in your life at this point? Can you even do that? Julia’s been living rent free for years so she has a…
