Paige Alder is finally in a good place. Now that she’s learned how to say no and really control her schedule and her day, she’s doing great. In fact, she’s dating an awesome guy and she’s even been offered a promotion at work. Except…

She’s really not a fan of the job she’s doing and it’s starting to wear her down. She’s not using her education and though she was promised that she would one day become a case worker, she’s still just a glorified receptionist. Should you take a promotion when you just aren’t a fan of the job?

And then there’s that ex-boyfriend who has wandered back into her life and is doing his very best to try and convince her that they belong together. And her sister? The one that ran away and broke everyone’s heart? She’s back and she’s getting married? So yeah, even though Paige is in a great place, things still aren’t perfect. Sounds a little like life right?

One of my favorite things about Erynn Mangum’s writing is that it’s fun and light, but it’s real. Some chick lit or comedy writing is so outrageous you know that there’s no way it would really truly happen. That doesn’t mean you don’t love it. It’s just not real. But Erynn takes real life situations, makes them entertaining, and along the way gives us warm fuzzies about the characters. Paige and her friends are no different. Even when babies are born and marriages are taking place, the fun doesn’t stop and we learn to grow with these characters.

One of the other things that I love is that Erynn’s books are safe for anyone to read. My daughters (one of which has just developed a love of reading at the age of 14) can grab one of Erynn’s books and I know that she’s going to get good stuff. There’s nothing to worry about here! I’m so thankful for that because even with Christian books, sometimes you get the rough side of life so you can see how much God saves us every day. Erynn’s books are solid, entertaining books that I can trust with my young readers at home.

The thing that drove me crazy about this book was the ending. Erynn, when can I get the next one?? I’m hanging on here and wondering how often I’ll need to visit Panda Express while I’m waiting…
